Terms of Service — Houston Roleplay

1. Acceptance of Terms

By joining the Houston Roleplay Discord server, participating in our ERLC server, submitting an application, or using any service operated by Houston Roleplay (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease all use of the Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Services, in compliance with Discord's Terms of Service and Roblox's Terms of Use. By using the Services you represent that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent where required by applicable law.

3. Community Rules

All members are required to follow the community rules published on our website and within the Discord server at all times. Key standards include:

Respect: Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or targeted abuse toward any member is strictly prohibited.
Roleplay Integrity: Trolling, exploiting, cheating, or deliberately disrupting roleplay scenarios is not permitted.
Appropriate Content: NSFW, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate content may not be shared in any community space.
Server Authority: Instructions from staff and server command must be followed. Staff decisions made in good faith are final.
Alt Accounts: Using alternate accounts to evade bans or restrictions is prohibited and will result in permanent removal.
Real-World Conduct: Doxxing, swatting, threatening, or any real-world harm directed at members is a zero-tolerance offense.

4. Accounts and Authentication

The Services use Discord OAuth 2.0 and Roblox OAuth 2.0 for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord and Roblox accounts. Houston Roleplay is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized access to your accounts. We store only the minimum data necessary to operate the Services (see our Privacy Policy).

5. Applications and Departments

Submitting a department application does not guarantee acceptance. Houston Roleplay reserves the right to accept, deny, or rescind any application or department membership at its sole discretion. All in-game ranks and roles are granted privileges within the community, not legal rights or property.

6. Staff and Moderation

Staff members act as representatives of Houston Roleplay. Impersonating staff, interfering with moderation actions, or attempting to manipulate staff decisions may result in removal from the community. Moderation decisions, including bans, are logged and may be appealed through designated channels in the Discord server.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, backend systems, or other members' accounts.
Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to the website or API without explicit written permission.
Use the Services to distribute spam, malware, or malicious links.
Misrepresent your identity, rank, or affiliation within the community.
Engage in any conduct that disrupts, degrades, or damages the Services or the experience of other members.

8. Intellectual Property

The Houston Roleplay name, logo, department logos, and website design are the property of Houston Roleplay. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our branding without prior written consent. Houston Roleplay is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation or the developers of Emergency Response: Liberty County.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Houston Roleplay does not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the Services is at your sole risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Houston Roleplay and its staff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

Houston Roleplay may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

12. Changes to These Terms

Houston Roleplay reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be announced in the Discord server.
